I'm passionate about healing, and taking care of our environment. I practiced as a naturopath for over 20 years and am now semi retired! (how can one retire from the healing arts?)

Our Kauri trees are being decimated by a disease called Kauri-dieback which at this time has no known cure. Much research is being done, and although there are some theories as to why they are dying - nobody really knows for certain.

Some years ago a dear friend Andrew Niha introduced to me Tane Mahuta - Lord of the Forest. New Zealand's famous Kauri tree who is found in the Waipoua Forest in Northland. Andrew died in December 2017 and I was about to ask him to read my story, but he departed before doing so. I have dedicated Tane Mahuta to him as he was passionate about the environment and healing.

I decided to publish as an ebook- because the message is very topical at this time in New Zealand in 2018. Trying to get published with a publisher may have never happened.

Tane Mahuta is in actual fact  a worldwide story as many forests are dying all over the globe, and what Tane asks us to consider is applicable for all forests everywhere.

I have published under the young adults genre - but in reality it is a story for everyone - everywhere.

I so much want the young people to become more aware of the importance of what is happening to our environment which is becoming more and more toxic every day. Time is running out - but there is hope. New technology is being developed, and hopefully as the old way of using pesticides, chemicals, and other toxins will be phased out - then Gaia -Earth Mother can start to recover.

I want to see a better and healthier future for our grandchildren, great grandchildren and far into the future where there is peace, unity, and a world that awakens to the understanding that we cannot live any longer polluting our environment.

We are all ONE- connected  via a 'field' - where one goes - we go All.

So Tane Mahuta Lord of the Forest, in this story is the wise old teacher who guides Joshua and his friends, and asks them to help save him and his family - the great Kauri Trees.

NEWS FLASH November 8th 2018

A new hope against Kauri-dieback disease as reported in the New Zeland Herald.

Professor Michelle Glass from the University of Otago and her team have been awarded a $939,000 Marsden Fund grant to tackle this crippling disease affecting our Kauri Forests.

I sincerely hope that some answers are found soon. The research needs to be extensive and go beyond a chemical response. New technology and a holistic approach is required - methinks.

NEWS UPDATE November 20th 2018 Radio new Zealand

An extra $8.75 million dollars has been funded to research Kauri die-back disease, so that scientists can begin critically important research into Kauri-dieback disease. Research Science & Innovation Minister Megan Woods said there was a critical need for such a boost to generate long term solutions for the spread of the disease.

The Biological Heritage National Science Challenge will receive the funding to undertake the research.

While this is good news for Tane & his family - I hope the scientists will look outside the box, as he asks them to do - via Joshua and friends in my ebook.

I was 'guided'  and 'inspired' by my children in spirit to write this story about Tane Mahuta - and how synchronistic it has turned out to be.
